Just 70 minutes<\/strong> by public transport from Shinjuku<\/strong>, you can easily reach the small Enoshima Island<\/strong>, which is famous for sailing and gliding. To see the island before its upcoming sports festivities (including the Olympic<\/strong> and Paralympic<\/strong> Games Tokyo 2020<\/strong>), I attended the Enoshima Welcome Festival, part of the\u00a0Sailing World Cup Series.<\/p>\n When a country is honored with hosting\u00a0a world-class event such as the Sailing World Cup Series<\/strong>, it will often highlight its cultural richness and traditions. That’s exactly what Enoshima decided to do for this ceremony.
