It connects to its neighbors <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Noda (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/voyapon.com\/noda-city-soy-sauce\/\" target=\"_blank\">Noda<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Kashiwa (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/voyapon.com\/kashiwa-nightlife-alternative-to-tokyo\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kashiwa<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/voyapon.com\/nagareyama-mirin-chiba-prefecture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Nagareyama (opens in a new tab)\">Nagareyama<\/a>, and along with them, forms a network of history and traditions that include all manner of Japanese craftwork, arts, architecture, religious customs, and the richness of Japan&#8217;s cuisine. First, the character was drawn on a piece of paper so I could copy the basic lines onto the lantern using a pencil. There\u2019s a fierce local competition between various ramen shops, the most famous of which is <strong>Chuka Soba Tomita<\/strong> on the east side of Matsudo station. In fact, there are no less than two dozen ramen shops within walking distance on the east and west sides of Matsudo station. All together, they serve <em>tonkotsu<\/em> \u3068\u3093\u3053\u3064 ramen (pork bone), <em>shio<\/em> \u5869 (salt), <em>miso<\/em> \u5473\u564c, <em>tantan<\/em> \u62c5\u3005\u9eb5 (spicy Sichuan), <em>tsukemen<\/em> \u3064\u3051\u9eba (dipping noodles), and a variety of side dishes. It\u2019s easy to see that the staff at Tomita Shokudo have their work down to a science; food preparation is quick, efficient, and the food is both hearty and dense, and also well put together. The house is built in a <strong>traditional, minimalist architectural style<\/strong> with different quarters for different purposes (women\u2019s quarters, sitting room, studying room, eating room, room for bathing), and plenty of <em>shoji<\/em> screens slid into place to delicately obscure views. At the time the house was built, when there was no surrounding city, there was <strong>a perfect view of Mt. Fuji<\/strong> from the house and garden. My guide told me: imagine a river, and boats traveling up and down it, and workers carrying rice and goods to and from the boats &#8230; and just that. Only that and greenery between the house and the horizon, and Mt.
