Fukuoka city\u2019s biggest station, Hakata, has become more than just a point for travel. As well as connecting to the rest of Japan via trains and shinkansen, Hakata Station and the surrounding area now has a lot to offer, especially when it comes to shopping.<\/p>\n
Along with shopping offered at\u00a0JR Hakata City, the station itself was developed in 2011. Now the station stands at 10 stories high with floors filled with shops, cafes and restaurants. Everyone can find something here!<\/p>\n

A popular department store selling many products is Tokyu Hands, located by the Hakata Exit. Opposite this stands Hankyu, where you can do a lot of high-end shopping. The two department stores are connected, as from the third floor upwards you can walk between the two.<\/p>\n
Hakata Station’s roof features a small railway shrine along with a miniature train ride (great for kids)! There is also a great spot for taking in the city’s scenery. Stop by at night to see the stunning nighttime views.<\/p>\n
One of Hakata\u2019s most popular local foods, Hakata ramen, is available at many shops in the area, as well as within the station. There are many to choose from, so you can even try a few for comparison!<\/p>\n
