The<strong> <a aria-label=\"Minobusan Kuonji Temple (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kuonji.jp\/english\/entop.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"ek-link\">Minobusan Kuonji Temple<\/a> <\/strong>(\u8eab\u5ef6\u5c71\u4e45\u9060\u5bfa) was established in 1274 and is the head temple of Nichiren Buddhism, an order founded by Nichiren whose teachings advocate for people to spread peace within themselves and throughout the world in accordance with the Lotus Sutra. Following his departure, the priest&#8217;s ashes were returned to the Minobusan Kuonji Temple after his final journey to propagate the Dharma.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.voyapon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/29184912\/Yamanashi_mountains_06.jpg\" alt=\"priests in a temple\" class=\"wp-image-99800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/s3.voyapon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/29184912\/Yamanashi_mountains_06.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/s3.voyapon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/29184912\/Yamanashi_mountains_06-500x281.jpg 500w, https:\/\/s3.voyapon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/29184912\/Yamanashi_mountains_06-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Minobusan Kuonji Temple is not only a significant spot for Buddhist doctrine but also a <strong>beautiful sightseeing destination, with the beautiful cherry trees on his premises<\/strong> (including a centuries-old weeping cherry tree) <strong>attracting many visitors each year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Immerse yourself in the temple&#8217;s peaceful surroundings of the temple and join the many pilgrims who walk up its <strong>287 &#8220;steps of enlightenment,&#8221;<\/strong> a path that leads to the complex&#8217;s magnificent five-story pagoda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visitors can attend the temple services in the morning, afternoon, or evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"htoc-hone-your-spirit-with-a-hike-to-the-shichimensan-keishin-in\">Hone Your Spirit with a Hike to the Shichimensan Keishin-in<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kuonji.jp\/shichimenzan\/shichi-tokei.htm\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\"><strong> Shichimensan Keishin-in <\/strong><\/a>(\u4e03\u9762\u5c71\u656c\u614e\u9662) is another Buddhist temple located right at the top of Mount Shichimen, in the Southern Japanese Alps, at an elevation of 1982m. It is only accessible on foot via one of two hiking trails: the Omotesando trail and the Urasando trail. This <strong>rare natural phenomenon occurs only twice a year when the sun rises or sets directly behind Mount Fuji, making its peak sparkle like a diamond.
