Abigail Smathers

Hello there! I'm Abigail, a writer and translator from the US. I embarked on my lifelong dream of moving to Japan in early 2020—a crazy journey made even crazier by the state of the world at the time. Despite the hardships brought on by the pandemic, I am now living in Tokyo and have been happily pursuing my passions of music and food. While I'm not writing or translating, I am a singer and home chef. I enjoy composing music in Japanese, and cooking in Japanese, as well! I hope my artistic and culinary experiences here in Japan are able to spark in you the same love and admiration that I have for this wonderful country.
