Cherry Blossom viewing or Hanami is one of Japan’s favourite pastimes. Known as Sakura, it is considered the national flower of Japan, along with the chrysanthemum. Cherry blossoms are richly symbolic, and have been utilized often in Japanese Art, Manga, Anime, and Film.
