Toyama Prefecture

Toyama is a prefecture along the Sea of Japan coast in the the Chubu Region. The prefecture also includes part of the spectacular Northern Japan Alps, which can be experienced along the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. The highest point along the route, Murodo offers a variety of Hiking trails. Other highlights along the route are the single-span Tateyama Ropeway that provides great bird’s eye views of the surrounding mountain scenery, and the Kurobe Dam which is especially spectacular when it discharges water between late June and mid October.
