If you are searching for a good spot where you can enjoy the cherry blossoms this spring. Why not discover Kodago in Nagayo, one of the towns in Nagasaki prefecture with a very beautiful walk under the cherry trees previously only known by locals. At just a few minutes walk from JR Koda station, a spring world awaits you.

 The best time to take pictures, while enjoying of this spot in Kodago town, is the early morning and in the hours after noon, when the sun make the cherry trees naturally light up with sunlight, and the petals became almost translucent.

Over the years, what began as a walking path by the side of the cherry trees, became a tunnel in pink blossoms; because the branches have already reach out to the river over the waking path, making a natural flowery roof.

The wonderful point of this beautiful place,is that you can take the greatest selfies. It will look as if you are immersed in a cloud of cherry blossoms.

The cherry branches are so long that you can touch the flowers with your hands.

With a length of no more than 300 meters, this path is a favorite for take a run and make light exercise.

Thanks to the soft breeze of the sidelines of the river, this place is a favorite for the town neighbors to take a walk with their pets.

Enjoy the wonderful feeling of been covered by a natural confetti made of soft pink petals.

Even if this walking path is not made for make a “Hanami” or  cherry blossoms viewing pick-nick, is still allowed to take a soft drink or enjoy a snack while you seat on a bench. Just remember to bring back with you all the leftover garbage, Nagayo and Nagasaki city have a very strict law about littering and they both recycle their waste in different ways.

One of the almost unknown attractive points of this path, is that because runs parallel to the train tracks of the Nagasaki JR line, that the fans of the trains can get unique shots of the many cars that come and go surrounded in the beauty of nature.

For access to this beautiful path: If you are coming by car from Nagasaki City Station, is a 20 min drive to Kodago town, you can park near the parking lot of the LaLa Nagayo supermarket store, and walk from there along the line of cherry trees and go back.
If you are coming by train: buy a ticket in JR Nagasaki City Station bound for Nagayo Station; and get off 4 stops later in Koda station. The trains run from 5:47AM. until 11:21PM. every 40 minutes and cost about 230 yen. Beware that this specific path doesn’t count with a special light up in the cherry blossoms area, so is better to go back to the station before it gets too dark.
