Mie Prefecture is home to Japan’s holiest Shinto Shrine, Ise Grand Shrine and also Iga Ninja Museum. Besides numerous Parks, other notable places are the Kumano Kodo, a World Heritage Site, Mikimoto Pearl Island, Saiku, and Sakakibara Onsen (considered to be the 3rd best in Japan). Suzuka Circuit, Japan’s most famous racetrack is also in Mie. Famous products are Spiny Lobster, Matsusaka Beef, and Akafuku, a sweet made with mochi and sweet red bean paste.
