Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji is Japan’s highest mountain. Mount Fuji is one of Japan’s “Three Holy Mountains.” It is one of Japan’s Historic Sites and was added to the World Heritage List as a Cultural Site on June 22, 2013. An easy way to view Mount Fuji is from the Shinkansen (Bullet train) on a trip between Tokyo and Osaka. If you want to enjoy Mount Fuji at a more leisurely pace, you should head to the Fuji Five Lake region, or to Hakone, a nearby Hot Spring (Onsen) resort. Mount Fuji is officially open for Climbing during July and August via several routes.
